ProServe is upgrading a water desalination plant in the Red Sea to increase its capacity from 500 M3/D to 1500 M3/D using two PX 300 energy recovery devices.
The project aims to reduce power consumption, lowering it from 6.2 KW/M3 to 2.8 KW/M3. Set to be completed by the end of May 2013, the upgrade will save 2,100,000 kWh annually. This project could be applied to other plants to help save energy, especially in light of Egypt’s power shortages.
